The link between synesthesia and metaphor (Ramachandran & Hubbard, 2001b) has already been alluded to. The character for the back link continues to be elusive because synesthesia requires arbitrarily hooking up two not related circumstances (e.g. tone and numbers) whereas there was a non-arbitrary conceptual connection between Juliet and sun. One prospective way to this dilemma comes from realizing that a phrase has only a FINITE collection of stronger first order interaction (sun = hot, nurturing, vibrant, brilliant) surrounded by a penumbra of weakened second-order interaction (sun = yellow, flowers, coastline, etc.) and next and 4th purchase associations that fade method like an echo.
